Pentagon City Gets Metro Improvements

Pentagon_city_canopy_1 On Monday, October 30 at 9:00 am at the Pentagon City Metrorail Station, WMATA and Arlington County will mark the completion of the Metrorail escalator canopy program in Arlington and unveil the $10 million in improvements to the station and S. Hayes St. area called the Pentagon City Multimodal Transportation Improvements Project. In addition to the new canopies, the area will see:

  • improved bus stops with new bus shelters and sidewalk improvements
  • improved pedestrian crosswalks
  • streetscape enhancements and improved signage
  • street and traffic signal improvements
  • bike parking enhancements
  • addition of a kiss-and-ride zone

A new elevator and a new pedestrian tunnel are also in the works.
