Pentagon City Gets Metro Improvements
On Monday, October 30 at 9:00 am at the Pentagon City Metrorail Station, WMATA and Arlington County will mark the completion of the Metrorail escalator canopy program in Arlington and unveil the $10 million in improvements to the station and S. Hayes St. area called the Pentagon City Multimodal Transportation Improvements Project. In addition to the new canopies, the area will see:
- improved bus stops with new bus shelters and sidewalk improvements
- improved pedestrian crosswalks
- streetscape enhancements and improved signage
- street and traffic signal improvements
- bike parking enhancements
- addition of a kiss-and-ride zone
A new elevator and a new pedestrian tunnel are also in the works.
