With ART 87 Pentagon-Army Navy Drive-Shirlington, anyone living in the neighborhoods of Shirlington or Nauck can go green with ART six days a week. This route provides direct service to the Shirlington Bus Station and Pentagon Metro station Monday through Saturday, with key stops along Glebe Road and Army Navy Drive.
In addition to the regular ART 87 that travels to and from Pentgon and Shirlington via the neighborhoods, ART also has two additional 87 lines: 87X and 87A.
87X buses are express trips between Pentagon and Shirlington Station. 87X takes the I-395 freeway from
Pentagon to Shirlington in AM rush and the I-395 HOV in the PM rush. Catch the 87X from Pentagon Metro and take it directly to the Shirlington Transit Station – in just ten minutes!
If your destination is 24th Rd S. & S. Glebe or S. Lang & 28th Street S., you can remain on the 87X bus to continue on through the neighborhoods as it continues back to Pentagon, or catch the ART 84 from Pentagon City.
87A rush hour service connects 26th Street and Troy Street to Pentagon in the AM and Pentagon to 26th and Troy in the PM (with stops at Macy's and Horizon House) at roughly 20 minute intervals.
